Red Sea Dining Experience | Proposed Project

In 2023, my self and my colleague were commissioned by a Saudi partner to conceptualise and produce a pop-up pitch for the Royal Commission for AlUla. The brief called for a high-energy, design-forward experience that seamlessly integrated fine dining, live performance, and a meaningful connection to the surrounding landscape.

In response, we immersed ourselves in the narrative of AlUla and uncovered its ancient geological history—once entirely submerged beneath the sea. Inspired by this revelation, we envisioned an immersive underwater seascape, partnering with the globally renowned restaurant brand, Sexy Fish, to bring the concept to life.

Our proposal reimagined the Red Sea as a theatrical dining environment, featuring sculptural furniture, layered scenic design, and a monumental coral installation animated with shimmering marine elements. The experience was complemented by a bespoke entertainment programme and the signature Sexy Fish menu, creating a cohesive culinary and sensory journey.

Guests were enveloped in a dynamic soundscape curated by international DJs, with choreographed dancers and live musicians guiding them through an evocative journey beneath the surface—where atmosphere, gastronomy, and performance converged in a singular, immersive world.

While the concept was not realised at the time, it remains an active dialogue with the client, with shared ambitions to bring the experience to the region in the future.
