Neon Jungle
London
2018
For this commission, I was engaged to produce a high-energy evening event within the near-complete construction shell of London Wall Place, marking the pre-opening of the development. With an undeveloped floor scheduled for imminent refurbishment, the client saw an opportunity to activate the raw space and celebrate the project’s progression in a bold and unexpected way.
Working from an open brief, I developed a concept that brought the newly installed external landscaping indoors—softening the concrete shell with curated jungle greenery—while contrasting it with stark neon interventions to create a dynamic, contemporary party atmosphere. As dusk fell, the space evolved dramatically: raw concrete surfaces were juxtaposed with architectural neon strips, modern leather lounge seating, and smoked glass poseur tables, creating a refined yet industrial aesthetic.
At the heart of the design stood a 18-foot platinum mirrored bar, conceived as the focal point of the room. Framed by an industrial truss arch and adorned with vintage neon signage sourced across London, the installation delivered an immediate visual impact and a striking arrival moment for guests.
The culinary offering mirrored the industrial-meets-elevated tone of the environment, with refined street food including lobster rolls, shrimp burgers, chicken karaage, and a. variety of mochi, complemented by craft beers and exotic cocktails. Every detail—from spatial planning to service flow—was carefully orchestrated to ensure seamless execution within the constraints of a live construction environment.
The result was a bold, immersive celebration that transformed an unfinished floor plate into a vibrant, design-led destination—demonstrating the potential and personality of the development before its official launch.
