Corporate Dinner

London

2019

For this commission, I was tasked with transforming the active building site of City Gate House into an immersive 1920s-inspired dining environment, celebrating the property’s pre-refurbishment phase and hosting 50 leading City agents.

The concept juxtaposed the raw industrial character of the space with the glamour and decadence of the Roaring Twenties. Guests were welcomed with refined canapés before being seated for a carefully curated three-course menu featuring oysters, lobster, and wagyu steak, accompanied by champagne and classic cocktails including Negronis and Old Fashioneds.

Entertainment was seamlessly woven into the environment through The Workman—a 1920s-inspired construction troupe who reimagined the building site itself as their stage. Utilising ladders, oil drums, and authentic construction materials, the performers delivered a high-energy, immersive show blending live vocals, tap choreography, and acrobatics.

Delivering fine dining and theatrical production within a live construction setting required meticulous planning, rigorous safety coordination, and precise operational execution. The result was a bold, site-responsive experience that celebrated the building’s past and future in equal measure.
